Frequently Asked Questions
Are appointments and medications covered by OHIP?
We are a private clinic, meaning all services require a fee. Our bio-identical hormone appointments require a yearly program fee, with several tiered options that include added perks and benefits. Please contact us for guidance on which tier best aligns with your goals.
Do I need a referral to book an appointment?
No referral is needed. You can book a consultation directly with our Nurse Practitioner through our website or by contacting the clinic.
What should I expect at my first visit?
Your first appointment includes a detailed consultation to review your health history, concerns, and goals. Depending on the service, we may also recommend lab work, a physical assessment, or a personalized treatment plan.
Who performs the treatments at Vitalis?
All medical treatments are performed by licensed nurses with advanced training in hormone therapy, cosmetic injectables, and wellness medicine.
Will my private benefits cover my treatments?
Prescriptions may be eligible for coverage under private health plans. Most laboratory testing performed by external labs is covered by OHIP, and if you have a Health Spending Account, your program and appointment fees may be fully reimbursable.
Can I get a receipt for insurance reimbursement?
Yes. After all services you will be provided with an electronic, detailed receipt for your records, insurance reimbursement purposes or end of year taxes.
IWhy do you require a yearly fee for hormone-related programs?
Hormone optimization is not a one-time treatment—it’s an ongoing process. We work with individuals who are truly invested in their long-term health, and meaningful, sustainable results require consistent monitoring, dose adjustments, and regular follow-up. A yearly fee supports this comprehensive approach, ensuring you receive the ongoing care, guidance, and medical oversight needed for safe and effective hormone management.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking 2-3 weeks in advance, especially for initial consultations or hormone-related services. Appointment availability may vary based on service type.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Missed appointments or late cancellations will be subject to a fee.
Is parking available at the clinic?
Yes, there is free on-site parking available for all Vitalis clients.
Do you offer virtual appointments?
Yes. Virtual consultations are available anywhere in Ontario for many services, including hormone therapy and follow-up visits. Some services, such as injectables, require in-person care.
Are your treatments safe?
Absolutely. All treatments are performed using Health Canada–approved products and techniques backed by clinical research. Your safety and well-being are always our top priorities.
Can I combine multiple treatments in one visit?
In many cases, yes. We can often combine services such as injectables and wellness therapies during a single appointment. We’ll discuss your options during your consultation.
